Custom Plaque Mounting
The ARTiPLAQ™ process has been proven and perfected over a span of 35
years. Made in Maine, using lumber industry by-products and the best adhesive
and
laminating films available, ARTiPLAQ™ will protect your prints from
the harmful elements of the atmosphere for years to come.
Most
any print on any paper can be ARTiPLAQ'd. Whatever you decide to plaq however,
will change permanently when bonded to the wooden substrate and sealed with our laminate film. These changes are good, but the process cannot be reversed. Over-lamination of art work causes a slight reduction of color contrast. Close comparison, of an original print to one over-laminated with our matte "Artishield" film, reveals a perceptible reduction in vibrancy, particularly with whites and pastel colors. Original
works of art should be archived in some other manner that would facilitate
future reproduction.
ARTiPLAQ™ offers a clean, contemporary look for your printed
image. It's the product of choice for high humidity environments such
as kitchens, bathrooms and aboard ship. Unlike glass-faced artwork, our plaqs
are safe for hospitals, schools, busy hallways and similar locations.
ARTiPLAQ™ Style Options...
All three styles have a key hole slot
routed in the back for easy wall mounting
1.The Plaq Mount
The "Plaq mount" is our standard offering: your print mounted to a solid 3/8l1 thick board
MDF, the edge finished with either a 'Standard Bevel' or 'Micro Bevel'with your choice of
edge color. Profiles shown below:

Standard -- ----- -- Micro
Bevels
2. The Float
Mount
Your print is mounted to 1/811 masonite. The edge is finished with your choice of colors. A
hollow frame is fixed to the back of the plaq and inset a few inches from the edge so
when hung on the wall, the frame is not visible. Your print will appear to float 7/811 off the
wall. (The weight of a Float mount is less than half the weight of a 'standard plaq mount'
of similar size.)
Box mount

3. The Box Mount aka(Flush mount)
The Box mount, also known as 'Flush mount' has a thick 7/811 profile off the wall. (Visualize
a shoebox cover on the wall.) You print is mounted on 1/811 masonite and a hollow frame
is fixed to the back of the plaq, flush to the back edge. The edge is finished in your choice
of colors, (Similar to the Float mount, the weight of the box mount is less than half the
weight of a standard plaq mount of similar size.

HOW TO HANG YOUR PLAQ
We rout a slot in the back of all of our plaqs. Screw a #8 pan-head screw into the wall— (use a drywall anchor if you are screwing drywall). Insert the head of the screw into open hole of the slot and slide the plaq so the screw is in the center of the slot. Voila! If you have tightened the screw properly to the wall, your plaq should lay flat on the wall.
